12th Assembly of the Uniting Church of Australia

The Uniting Church in Australia has today voted for a new President to lead the church in three years’ time.

Reverend Dr Andrew Dutney was chosen as President-elect by the 12th Triennial Assembly of the Uniting Church.

The outgoing President of the Uniting Church in Australia has said that he has seen areas of growth and vibrancy in many Uniting Church congregations.

The Uniting Church in Australia last night installed a new President to lead the church for the next three years.

Rev. Alistair Macrae was officially installed in a ceremony at the University of New South Wales, Sydney, at the opening night of the Uniting Church’s 12th Triennial Assembly.

The 12th Triennial Assembly of the Uniting Church in Australia begins today, 15 July 2009, at the University of New South Wales, Sydney.
